About the Stone

Thulite is the pink-to-rose variety of zoisite, coloured by manganese and usually mottled with white and grey; Tanzanite and the green zoisite of Ruby in Zoisite are the same mineral in other colours, each its own stone. It was first described in Norway in 1820 and named for Thule, the mythical northern land — Norway's national stone.

Care

Reasonably durable, but zoisite has one direction of cleavage and a sharp knock can split it: avoid drops, no ultrasonic, and keep the pink out of prolonged strong sun. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Cleanse it with moonlight.
