About the Stone

Topaz is a hard aluminium silicate with a perfect cleavage — hard to scratch, easy to split. Mystic Topaz is the name the trade gives topaz that flashes a rainbow across its surface; how a given piece was finished varies, so we treat it as if the colour were a surface finish and care for it that way.

Wearing & Care

Put earrings on last, after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take them off for showers, swimming and sleep. Keep the pair together in a pouch so the stones don't rub against other jewelry. Sterling silver tarnishes slowly in air; a silver polishing cloth keeps it bright.
