About the Stone

Scolecite is a zeolite that grows in radiating sprays of fine white needles fanning out from a single point — many directions from one source, every needle full length, which is the teaching in mineral form. It comes from the basalt cavities of India's Deccan Traps, often alongside stilbite and apophyllite. Not Selenite, which it can resemble.

Care

Delicate: the needles split along their length and a dropped spray can shatter, so handle natural pieces by the base. No soaking, no salt, no ultrasonic — a soft dry cloth — and keep it out of direct heat. Cleanse it with moonlight or a smudge.
