About the Stone

Ruby in Zoisite — anyolite, from the Maasai word for green — is red corundum grown inside green zoisite, usually flecked with black hornblende. The two minerals grew together, so the pairing is natural rather than assembled. Almost all of it comes from Tanzania.

Care

Water-safe; the mixed hardness means it can wear unevenly, so skip abrasives and store it apart from harder stones. Warm water and a soft cloth. Cleanse it with moonlight or a smudge.
