About the Stone

Polychrome Jasper — also called Desert Jasper — is a silicified volcanic rock from Madagascar, discovered only recently, which is the honest basis of the rarity claim. Its reds, ochres, creams and greens come from iron and other minerals, which is what polychrome means.
