About the Stone

A phantom is a crystal that grew, paused, and grew again — with the pause still visible inside it: a thin layer or a growth interruption settled on the faces, then new growth enclosed it, leaving a ghost of the earlier crystal within. Here the purple amethyst grows inside clearer "amethyst flavored quartz", as the shop's card puts it. For an artist that is the whole metaphor: the earlier versions are still in there. Care

Water-safe and durable; warm water and a soft cloth. Amethyst fades in prolonged sunlight — keep it out of a sunny window. Cleanse it in moonlight.
