About the Stone

Epidote is a pistachio-green calcium-aluminium-iron silicate that gives its name to a whole mineral group — Unakite is epidote with pink feldspar, and the zoisites (Tanzanite, Ruby in Zoisite) are its relatives, each its own stone. Chiefly from Pakistan, Brazil, Mexico and Austria.

Care

Durable enough for daily handling but brittle along one cleavage: avoid drops. Warm water and a soft cloth. Cleanse it with moonlight or a smudge.
