How to Use It

Light the tip, let it flame for a few seconds, then blow it out so the ember glows. Stand it in an ash catcher, or push the bare end into a bowl of sand or rice, and open a window a crack — incense is meant to drift, not fill. Never leave it burning unattended; keep it away from curtains, children and pets.

In Tradition

Sweetgrass (Hierochloe odorata) is burned across the northern Plains and Great Lakes to call good spirits in after sage has cleared the bad; in Sacred Crystals' teaching it is the gentle, kind third of the smudging trinity.
