How to Use It

Set the cone on its metal stand or in a dish of sand on a heat-safe surface. Light the tip, let it flame for five to ten seconds, then blow it out so the point glows; it smokes for fifteen to twenty minutes and leaves a small ash. Open a window a crack. Never leave it burning unattended.

In Tradition

Myrrh was burned in Egyptian temples and used in embalming; it belongs to endings, grief and the deep, quiet work. Frankincense lifts; myrrh grounds.
