Garnet — There are three basic varieties of Garnet; this variety is Almandine, which is also the variety known worldwide as simply "Garnet". Garnet is a stone of earthy passion. It is the number one stone I recommend for the Root chakra. It is a grounding stone that drips with the Sacred Masculine and can be an aid to those wanting to stand in that energy. Garnet is strength — a strength that reduces fear and worry to nothing, or inconsequential. It also increases awareness, like a scout on lookout for the greatest good of its sacred partner. Amethyst — Amethyst is the one stone to have if you only owned one stone. It is both a stone of spiritual connection (Crown Chakra) and earth connection (Root Chakra). It is known as the Serenity Stone because it often helps us to release old negative habits so that we can shift forward into the best version of ourselves. About the Stones

Garnet. Garnet is a family of minerals rather than one; Almandine, the deep red iron-aluminum garnet, is the one the world simply calls Garnet. Hard, tough and water-safe — its toughness is why it is also used as an abrasive.

Amethyst. Amethyst is quartz with iron inclusions that give it its color; the most coveted deep purple comes from Uruguay, though some Brazilian amethyst rivals it. Madagascar amethyst is the same stone with a different look.

Wearing & Care

Put earrings on last, after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take them off for showers, swimming and sleep. Keep the pair together in a pouch so the stones don't rub against other jewelry. Sterling silver tarnishes slowly in air; a silver polishing cloth keeps it bright. Amethyst: Amethyst's purple fades with long hours in direct sun — it is the stone Vero uses to teach the rule.
