About the Stone

Calcite is calcium carbonate, and the green comes from trace inclusions such as chlorite. Sacred Crystals carries Blue, Clear, Orange, Red, Caribbean and Dog Tooth Honey Calcite as well — same mineral, different colours, each with its own meaning.

Care

Do not soak it, and never cleanse it with salt water — calcite dissolves in acid and the surface etches dull. It is very soft (Mohs 3) and scratches against almost anything, so store it separately. Cleanse it dry: sage, sound or moonlight.
