Very Rare * Collectable ~ From a New York City Jewelers Estate Stock Authentic Leaded Diamond ...!!!!!

One (1) Beautiful 7.5x6mm Leaded Diamond 2Cts+. Simulated Diamond from 1800's to early1900's.

These are New Old Stock from a Jewelers Estate-  Real ...!!!   

They are made from Glass - some refer to as "Strass Stones" or "Paste Stones" ..

... used as Simulants in fine Jewelry..

(eg. Engagement Ring, Promise Ring, Pendant etc...) 

Before the use of Cubic Zirconia (1970's) and Moissanite (1990's) to simulate Diamonds, fine "Leaded Glass" was used to simulate Diamonds in Fine Jewelry. Manufactured in France & imported by H.S Imports (operated from late 1800's to early 1930's) in NYC. The carat weight  between these stones are 2ct+ It is ideally sized, making it a versatile choice for various settings. With a Flawless Clarity & Colorless grade, it sparkles with pure Colorless & Flawless brilliance. 

Strass Stones are high-lead-content glass crystals, originally developed in the 18th century by Georg Friedrich Strass to imitate diamonds. They’re prized for their brilliance and historical charm, but they’re also relatively soft and fragile, typically ranking around 5 or lower on the Mohs hardness scale. That means they’re prone to scratching, chipping, or even shattering with regular use—especially in a ring that’s worn daily like an engagement ring.

Many of the Gemstones are hand cut under a 30x Loupe (see pictures) but other packages may be Machined at the time (eg. Electricity introduced 1891)..

From a New York City Jewelers Estate stock that dates from the late 1700's to Mid 1920's. Pictures of lot in this listing pictures can further provenance (Jewelers address, French markings & H.S. Import Stamp etc..).  It had been crafted in France & Imported by H.S. Imports, adding a touch of European sophistication to its heritage.
