About the Stone

Astrophyllite is a rare titanium silicate whose bronze-gold blades radiate in star-like sprays — the name is Greek for star-leaf — set in the black arfvedsonite it usually grows with, which is why the piece reads as a black stone shot with gold. Chiefly from Russia's Kola Peninsula.

Care

Softer than quartz and bladed: no ultrasonic, no soaking, no salt; a soft dry cloth, and store it apart from harder stones. Cleanse it with moonlight.
